Do you tire yourself to sleep?

Toni @toniganzon (82596) • Philippines 17 Oct

@LadyDuck mentioned in one of our conversations how she wasn't able to sleep one night. It suddenly reminded me during the time when I lost my parents. The night time was the most difficult part because it was only me and my...

Coyotes abound and none are named Wile E

John Roberts @JohnRoberts (108600) • Los Angeles, California 16 Oct

The Horse brought up the subject of coyotes in the neighborhood in a recent post. I used to mention seeing coyotes roaming my neighborhood early mornings. Today, the situation is worse as their numbers have grown. Just this...

We've pulled out the hedge

Judy Evans @JudyEv (390519) • Rockingham, Australia 17 Oct

When we moved here, there was a small hedge along our front wall. The gardeners were supposed to clip them which they did but then there was a period when the gardeners weren’t doing a very good job. Over time it’s got bedraggled...

Shadi @JudyEv yes! Even on your property, any exterior changes require municipal permission, which is rarely granted for removing plants. I think because Australia is vast with a huge green landscape, they wouldn't care about removing front yard hedges.

Can a penny in your pocket bring riches?

John Roberts @JohnRoberts (108600) • Los Angeles, California 7 Oct

Probably not. It's a billion to one chance a valuable rare penny is lurking in your pocket, purse or coin jar but it's possible. The penny has received increased interest since production ceased in 2025. I saw a coin expert on a...

Our prisons are full

Winterishere @thedevilinme (5681) • Northampton, England 4 Oct

Madness here. The U.K population rose by 10 million in twenty years, mostly due to the European Union free movement. We also have migrants coming over The Channel, and as you know, a hugely contentious issue here, as big as...

Shadi I'd like to see a solution that addresses societal problems that lead to crime. And of course, immigration too. Instead of building more prisons you can build a society that doesn't fill them. I'd start with drugs for example.

Toni @toniganzon (82596) • Philippines 1 Oct

I wasn't on here last night because of another family meeting. After a busy working Thursday, after dinner, had to meet my siblings. Parents left us with a number of real properties. Some of them we don't use anymore, we don't...

Shadi I find myself making occasional mistakes with in/on/at. I recently discovered that you use “IN a hospital” only when a person is hospitalized. It's complicated but also fun to learn.

Judy Evans @JudyEv (390519) • Rockingham, Australia 1 Oct

We are leaving shortly for Mukinbudin and will be away two nights and I’m not taking my computer. I might learn to use my phone to myLot. That would be something new. There is a concert tomorrow evening at Mangowine Homestead. I...

Weird love of cemeteries

Sissy15 @sissy15 (13564) • United States 14 Sep
