the most wonderful time of the year

There is a group of dubious folk for whom this time of year is wonderfully perfect. The late sunrise and early sunset gives them the freedom to do the naughty things they like to do. If it's dark and nobody can see you do it, can you pretend you haven't? I am, of course, talking about those people who own a dog or two. Not all doggy people, obviously. In fact, very few. But they do exist, on the fringes of respectable dog ownership, those owners who like to turn my early morning walk to the bus stop into a puzzle of epic proportions. Over the weekend one of them even decided to try to trap me in my house by allowing their dog to do his poo at the end of my garden path! *gasp* These are the people who must hate summer with a deep passion. Too much light! How can I let my doggy go poo poo and not pick it up? Oh, woe is me. My heart doth bleed. And meanwhile, my feet get to dance along the pavement, sidestepping poo which is all too often only seen at the last minute due to the low-light provided by the street lamps. Stupid lazy doggy owners.
