Yes,I realize smoking is bad for you. I am a cigarette smoker but with no good place to smoke and it being on average, 0 degrees I decided to buy one. There are an overwhelming amount if brands and options and flavors! I have one friend who completely quit smoking by starting to use an eCig and it costsher much less money. The ecigshe suggested started at $110. So I decided to opt for a cheaper one which was about $40. What concerns me is it seems like the health effects are largely unknown. But can it really be any worse than smoking normal cigs? Do you have an ecig or know anyone else who does? Please share your experiences if you have them!

My son had one and it made me cough horribly, I can't use one of those. He didn't like it either.

@fishtiger58 Ok. I have noticed similar things now if I smoke certain brands - ie Marlboro reds or mediums make me cough a lot.

I never tried ecigs. I stopped smoking with the aid of Chantix.

Good to hear this. I have heard mixed reviews about Chantix. Did you experience any weird side effects while taking this?

@maezee I experienced some nightmares which I never did before. It happened so long ago that I don´t remember it all, but the whole thing wasn´t good and as I stopped smoking after the second month, I decided I would stay firm with that and I did not take the Chantix for the 3 months of the treatment.

I had an e-cig before, I was doing good with it until I had a miscarriage. Once I lost the baby I felt like i was losing everything in my world so I went back to smoking cigs. It worries me as well that we don't really know what's in them, they could be killing people faster and no one knows...

Since they won't disclose the chemicals that you inhale I wouldn't want to see anyone use this long term. I don't even like to pass by people smoking those because I don't know what chemicals are being emitted by them that I can breathe in. They really do seem to be quite the rage it seems.

I have never smoked. I do hope you try to quit as it could be very harmful to your health.
