Holiday Bells Will Ring

Holiday bells might be ringing soon but I am not ready. I have been washing floors and doing what not to prepare. My sciatica is angry at me and my arms are slowly growing muscles while both shoulders are aching. I will be so glad when I am done. I have included another Christmas poem I have written about my Christmases. Another Christmas Another Memory Soon my Christmas tree will be glimmering, angel hair hanging and twinkling on each branch. Then I’ll begin to remember, Christmases past - an eager child with shining eyes, adoring the tree with colorful lights. A Christmas angel atop, gifts in all shapes and sizes, Mommy and daddy what more could one child want. Then years would fly by, bringing a tear to my eye and Daddy went to Heaven too soon. That was a Christmas that was sad, he’d joined God in November and there was no joy that year. Christmases came and went, I gave all the joy inside - to mom and we’d celebrate in style. Christmas Eve church services, seeing mom’s happy surprise with each new present. It gave me such pleasure to give and not receive, those were Christmases to treasure - they’ll never come again and Mom’s gone now too. Every Christmas, every new shiny tree, reminds me of the loved ones who’ve all passed on. My husband, my cat Sid and I, make new memories, while wishing everyone – A Merry Christmas and a Happy, Shiny New Year! The photo is of mom and me one Christmas in her apartment in NYC

Christmases can be very sad when loved ones can no longer share it with us.

Lovely poem. and I agree that Christmas does tend to be a time to remember loved ones who are no longer with us. I hope you have a good Christmas,
