Yes, Monday was my dental visit to have 10 teeth pulled. It took him roughly 3 minutes to pull them all. 3 minutes for $1900; not bad. Wish I was a dentist. After I got home, the fun really started. The appointment was for 2 and I was home by 2:30.
At 4, the Novocaine wore off. I took a baby aspirin. At 5, I was still bleeding pretty good and the pain was stronger, so I took an ice pack to the entire jaw bone. By 8, the pain was pretty bad so I took an Advil. Went to bed at 11:30 (dentist told me to wear both top and bottom plates while I slept).
At 2 am, I thought someone had taken a butcher knife to the entire inside and outside jaw. Got up and took out the top plate and noticed my tongue was black from the dried blood and my tongue felt like it was on fire.
Took another Advil. Saw the dentist again this morning so he could shave down the plate where it was cutting into my jaw. Now mind you, I'm not a wuss, but when he pulled that plate out, I immediately had tears running down my face; the pain was so bad.
As soon as I got home I took another Advil. Hopefully tonight, I won't be thrown from the bed with screaming pain. Oh and I have to go see him again this next Tuesday to see if he needs to do any other 'adjusting'. Oh BTW, haven't had any food since Sunday.

I think I'll let mine fall out on their own. I find it hard to believe a dentist does this to his patients.
Mom asked a dentist to pull all her teeth when we were in Germany back in the late 1950s, she had half pulled one month then the other half pulled the next. I was 8 at the time and remember her telling me that she'd have to eat baby food for a while because her dentist wouldn't let her put false teeth in until her gums healed.

I can't believe that when I had all my upper teeth pulled, there was absolutely NO pain whatsoever, but this?!! Yeah, all I can manage is soup.

It's a shame that the anesthetic doesn't last longer @STOUTjodee .

OH my poor woman how horrible to have so many pulled at once. I sincerely hope that you are pain free soon. Do try to keep your strength up by drinking soup or ice cream. Good luck

@nanette64 OH dear Nanette I really feel for you! Dental surgery is so painful. I hope the swelling has gone down now. It should ease with the antibiotics.

@garymarsh6 It will probably take 3 or 4 days for the antibiotics to bring down the swelling. So maybe that will be my Xmas present on Sunday.
