Dick Van Dyke to star in Mary Poppins

The NEW Mary Poppins due to be released in 2018. He's playing a cameo part of the Junior Mr. Dawes. He had said that he wanted a role in it as he was in the first. He is 91 years young. It should be an interesting re-make. They said who the new Mary Poppins will be, but I missed the name, or didn't recognize it. It will be a movie to watch for. I just saw the original a couple days ago. It was televised last Saturday, and I put it on DVR. I hate commercials so did the fast forward thing. Have you seen the news about this? Yes he does. He's aged very well. I didn't see that interview. I just happened to see something about it on TV this morning.

I had heard a while back that there would be a remake but didn't hear anymore until now. Emily Blunt will be Mary. Should be interesting. Comes out December 25th.

That's two years from now. I wonder why they are waiting so long to bring it out. Though it's not a remake but a sequel. I got it wrong on that point.

I'm sorry, it's not a remake but a sequel. I got it wrong in the post. I hope it's good. He insisted on doing the role for it and he'll also be dancing so should be interesting.

Julie Andrews was equally well known as Mary Poppins. However, I do agree, he needs to be in the sequel.

I like actors like Robert Redford that continue to make movies by developing their acting characters further. Not sure if remakes are a good idea but you never can tell if it will be successful.
