I wonder how Walmart keeps tabs on everyone in their work force?

Imagine being a manager of a Walmart and having to oversee and monitor the activities of everyone by yourself? Sounds like it would be overwhelming and next to impossible. I read a report from Bloomberg online and it is something that I think is worth a look at so check it out below:

Uhm... I have nothing to say about the protests that were staged since I am still an associate at Walmart. I will say that I do not support joining a union or any activities that would cause problems/embarrassment for Walmart as a company or my store in particular. I LOVE my job! I have been an associate at Walmart for almost 9 years now. (I was hired in April.) At the time I was hired, my starting wage was almost unheard of for new hires in Walmart. I will send you a pm, Anthony.

Hmmm... Anthony... I was going to thank the person who suggested this discussion to me, but it appears that person didn't respond on this after suggesting it to me. I find that odd.

@DaddyEvil Maybe that person was not in a position to comment, such as knowing nothing of how Walmart operate, or of their history... but felt you may be more qualified to shed a little light on some of the items in the post.. Perhaps.

@pgntwo LOL! I just found it odd, pgn. I didn't say the person threw me to the wolves or anything like that! The problem I had with this post is that I am an associate at Walmart... This post and the link provided by Anthony shows just how closely associates are watched... I didn't feel free to express some of the things addressed in the post, or more than a passing reference to anything I have no direct knowledge about.

I would use surgically implanted GPS chips!

I think some companies use hats or wrist bands with the chips not actually implanted under the skin of each associate. I would think that form of keeping tabs on the workers would be an illegal invasion of personal privacy that would make each person subject to permanent surveillance no matter where they went both on the clock and off. This is not a good idea. No one would accept an implant anyway.

@lookatdesktop I was trying to come up with the most intrusive, and potentially illegal and unethical, method that I could.

I know it. boy do I now it. I have seen first hand how some associates behave and it just isn't always that professional if you get what I mean. That pertains to all stores I go to. People are just people and nobody is perfect so it will happen just about any place.

I would hate to manage a big Walmart store. That would be hard.

It would be very difficult for anyone I think to run a store like that and do a good job as well as be able to deal with the job related stress.
