Hello Everyone!
To those who celebrate Christmas, I wish you a very merry one with your loved ones.. And please be safe ..
Christmas experiences of my childhood was never a merry one, so to me Christmas day is just any other days.. I've never really celebrated it with my children the way others do and they didn't mind..They didn't have to wait for christmas or their birthdays to get presents anyway ..
Nor did I celebrated any other public holidays the traditional way because in my line of work, they are the busiest days of the year...
I took advantaged of the extra work load especially in my younger years.. Being self-employed means no work, no pay... so I had to work extra hours..
Christmas day down under is almost over.. I didn't work today because my youngest son and his partner came to visit.. I drop everything when it comes to my kids .. I cooked lunch and he helped me make some egg custard for dessert
.. They spent the whole day with us.. It was really good to see them..
Anyway, so this is Christmas, and what have you done?..
Bess...
Photo is of the giant christmas tree in our local shopping mall...

I know I haven't done much, but, I think I made my family happy by going home to celebrate Christmas and new year with them. =) They were waiting for me. And I am glad I did.
Merry Christmas, Ma'am!

@epiffanie I agree. At the very least, to be able to spend time with loved ones is a perfect gift all around - for ourselves as well as our loved ones.

@epiffanie Well, as long as the family is together and have a food to share that's okay .

@SIMPLYD most poor people sometimes don't have food any other days of the year, so christmas is no difference..

For me Christmas is all about family, I had two of my children and their families at my house, my daughter's father in law and my nephew. We were a nice crowd, about 20 and we ate and visited and laughed, Great day all around.

From a Jimmy Buffett song, right? We don't get involved in commercial holidays here. Some don't get that, but it works for us.

I spent Christmas day with my friend and her family. We've been friends for nearly forty years, and live closer to each other than I do to my family. It was a day well spent.
