A poem based on the Jessica @Jessicalynnt poetry challenge to use the five words - slick, cold, coating, glass, frozen poem - Resurrection. Brick thick, and as sick as an oil-slick The racist, sexist troglodyte throwback, From some old cold buried pre-enlightenment era Simply won’t be told, Like some Jurassic amber cloned bigotosaur With deep frozen but resurrected extinct values And no idea what thinking is actually for. Women are there for him to use and abuse While foreigners are for deportation Even if they were born in our own nation Barely literate he heads out voting For the candidate the liberal media is noting As Nazis-are-Us Holocaust deniers Sugar-coating the bitter pill of hateful ideology If these scum get in there will be book burning And people burning bonfires and pyres Because such cretins are incapable of learning Love, as all they can do is break hearts, bones and glass And every far right victory in the polls lets the evil pass Closer to the return of that our fathers died resisting That which some morons continue insisting Was not as bad as history records But that past is charging ever forwards To swallow the now killing all worth living for And many won’t see the danger until we face a third World War That throws us all back into a cold nuclear ice age With no hope of being revived for another stab at progress Right Wing Chic is increasingly all the rage All we’ll be is a forgotten stain in a bloody mess. @epiffanie I often suspect not - we have to make the most of what we have left
