New Upwork assignment for 2016-2017

Remember I've told you about the interview for my next Upwork assignment, the 8th one this year, to be a beta reader for someone's Middle Grade fantasy series? And this was after I lost my previous assignment last month? Since I didn't hear back from her in a while, she did ask for my Good Reads profile page on my previous book reviews last week. I sent her that and my link to my book review blog. I've heard back from her today about the offer to be her beta reader and book reviewer. This job is at the intermediate level though. She wants me to read the first 3-books in the series (3-in-all-book set) which is free for this week only. She offered me the job with the first deadline, a week from today. I would get paid $20 (16 with the service cut fee from Upwork), and addition to the costs of products and services of the books. According to Amazon, there's 7 books in the series, which could lead to work next spring. It has gotten a lot of glowing 4-5 star reviews on Amazon as well and a lot of downloads. I did ask her, if she wanted me to do the first book in the series or the entire book set (614 pages total) via message. So I'll get started and wait to hear back from her. I'll get started on this later today.

@KristenH I am going to guess you aren't a slow reader, so should be easy! Have fun with this one!

@Jessicalynnt Not a slow or speed reader. But I do read 3 chapters per book a day. I should get it done in time. I never read MG before. Thanks! Hope to hear back from my client on my question I've asked her yesterday.

Yeah it does. If I can read a few chapters a day, I would get done in time. There's only 17 chapters in the first book.

@kevin1877uk Thanks Kevin. It would be submitted on time--or maybe a day late--next week. Now I just have to wait, when I open up the doors again.

That sounds like a plan. I have Goodreads on my Kindle, but I haven't done more than just skim it.

Yeah it is. I have Good Reads too. I'm reading the book from my Mac desktop, so I can log it in for my work diary. Good Reads is a great source to get recommendations and to post your book reviews.

Thanks Pat. We'll see next week. I never read MG before and I rarely read fantasy. So we shall see.

That sounds like a really fun assignment! I registered with Upwork but haven't been very active there.

Good for you. I hope you'll be active in 2017 with your first job by invite or by sending a proposal. It does sound like fun and something easy to do.

It does sounds like fun. She said I can do onebook or the set, either way is fine with her. And she wants my honest feedback for the whole series. Hope I can do more for her in the future. So far so good to beta read and review.
