Remembering George Michael

I can't say that I was a super big fan, however over the past couple of years especially, I started discovering more and more songs by George Michael that I enjoy. For example I didn't know that "Careless Whisper" was his, or "Wake me up before you go-go" (Wham!). I really did enjoy the sound of his voice he had this sort of unique, identifiable quality. I remember watching the video for "Fast Love" and have a 90s flash back, I remember liking the song before I knew what it was about. I remember thinking how Michael in the video reminded me of the appearance of this person I knew. If the person and I were in touch I would have told him that. He'd have probably liked it. I remember telling a friend , recently, that I was surprised that Michael was gay -- after doing a little research on him. Of course that's like me - apparently he had been "out" as they call it - for many years by the time I made my big discovery. Also the irony of it. Does anyone else find it esp. concerning that the guy who sang "Last Christmas" died on Christmas day? Or that I think he was 53 and a half exactly. (Born June 25) ? Well my heart goes out to Michael's friends and family during this time. Here is a video of a prank involving the saxophone riff from "Careless Whisper" -- I especially like when he goes to the grocery store. No rudeness intended, the actually video makes me sad and this one makes me smile - so here's hoping that it brings a smile to other's faces too.

Michael was involuntarily "outed." He was caught in questionable circumstances in a men's restroom at a Beverly Hills park and that basically damaged his career.

@Mike197602 He kept his career going but he never regained his superstar at the time status. I think he was a fragile person like many of us are and had a hard time coping.

I like Outside. He released it after he was caught engaging in a "lewd act" in a toilet in beverly hills. It was a sort of f*ck you to the BHPD PS...skip to around 1.06 for the actual song

@FayeHazel it was a bit of a hit here...I don't think he was outed of his own accord but also think he was happier afterwards.

I like the attitude. Though it may not have been voluntary that he was outed, it seemed like he was happier after it became public knowledge, at least from the handful of articles I read

Me? @TheInvisibleMan -- I liked a good number of his songs. I think one of my next steps was going to check out his greatest hits cd (if he had one...)

I liked the first Wham! album and a couple of his solo songs, but that's about it.
