"A Christmas Story"

No Christmas movie list would be complete without "A Christmas Story"  This low budget independent film that no one really expected to be all that popular has become a classic years later.   The story follows a little boy, Ralphie, around during Christmas time in the 1930s or maybe the 1940s.  The producers paid awesome attention to using props and sets with items from the era and that makes part of the fun of watching this movie. Little Ralphie wants a BB. gun - to which he is told by everyone that he'll "shoot his eye out".  He is an imaginative little kid and every day events take on an imaginative spin that we all get to watch. Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant, Santas, saying your first major "bad" word, Pink bunny outfit, leg lamps... it's all in there.  You'll have to watch it to see if Ralphie gets his BB gun.  * There was a second "Christmas Story" made with Ralphie as a teenager as well as a summer story all featuring the same characters though the actors differ in each film. Video: The famous leg lamp scene, if this doesn't make you want to run out and watch this one, I don't know what will.
