Always thought where the courage and patriotism in me had come from. To die for the country, wow, I've always known that I own the virtue, but learning about my father's story, sigh, I am nothing compared to him. I love you, Daddy. Look, your story is now a learning tool. I am so proud of you.

Your father is really a hero for his country. I'm also proud of all heroes who have fought for their country.

I hold men-in-uniform with high regard. I admire their selflessness, To dedicate one's life for a country and its people only means one thing to me - valor. I didn't know my father offered his life for my country. He was just Daddy to us. Or perhaps when he was narrating, I wasn't paying as much attention. Yes, I am so proud of him.

@eileenleyva I know what you mean as my dad was a medic in World War II. He was shot when he was fighting in World War II and they could never get the shrapnel removed from his body. Shrapnel is a piece of the bullets that was hitting a lot during that war. I was 3 when he was in Germany fighting in the war.

Thank you, dear friend. Sorry for the late response. Only recently did I get back to mylot. My Daddy, he was a gentle and quiet man. But he was so brave. I honor him in my heart, a real good father.

A war hero, yes. Remembering him now, oh my, he was just Daddy. I do thank our God for blessing me and my siblings with an exemplary father. He loved us very deeply.

@eileenleyva I think most of us children of past military members feel very honored from our parents.
