New year, new goals

United States
December 30, 2016 6:30pm CST
As 2017 approaches, I've started thinking about the things toward which I'd like to strive. (Such as eating less sugar and drinking more water.) I'm a college student, not the typical age for this site, but I figured you all might have some goals that I could steal. So, what are your resolutions or goals for the Upcoming year? Some of mine, in addition to the ones I've said, are meditating and reading more. (I still have to specify more, such as how many times a week and for how long.)

@supercalifredge I would love to go back to the US, I lived in Californa for two years and miss it so much. I would love to travel to New Zealand, maybe one day. I think maybe Europe somewhere or maybe Scotland, love Scotland. So many, so many places to see and visit.

@supercalifredge Haha yeah =) I just don't make any anymore though mine are realistic. I find I don't need a resolution to try to pursue what I want!

It seems pretty common for people to not achieve their resolutions. People are usually too broad or unrealistic with their resolutions.

@infatuatedbby That's good! Some people just need to be intentional with their lives or they won't get anything done, I guess.

I intend to do more things that enhance the happiness in my life. So often I neglect myself. This will be my year.

@ElusiveButterfly It's always good to take 5 minutes a day to just be quiet, maybe meditate. That should be a good starting place for you.

I don't make resolutions, but make small reachable goals. I gave up sugar years ago, but should drink a bit more water.

Giving up sugar is so hard! I don't know if I could do that! I agree, small measurable goals are much better.

"Here are a few goals that I want to work on in 2017: * I want to do more exercise and less sitting down. * I want to show more love, patience and tolerance towards everyone. * I want to keep my apartment neater. * I want to give away everything that I'm not using. * I want to spent less time on my computer." I am doing quite well with my goals, except I still spent a lot of time on the computer. How are you doing?

Well, it just seems to me that people are generally in their late twenties or older, but there are definitely some younger people too. Happy New Year!

Yes, that's usually the problem. That's why it's best to write them down and review them every week or so.

That's so important. I've heard you generally act like the five people closest to you, so you should make sure they're like the person you want to be
