Ending the Year Positively

A 21 year-old YouTuber in Scotland posted a year end video today. She likes to stay positive and wanted to communicate all the good things that happened to her this year. I thought that would make a good entry for my journal. Except... I can't think of anything. It wasn't an outrageously bad year; it just didn't have any good, memorable moments that are noteworthy at all.
Don't get me wrong. I am grateful for a lot of things, but good things happening in 2016? It makes me wonder about that jar I have ready for 2017 where I am going to put notes of good things that happen. I sure as heck hope it doesn't remain empty all year. Perhaps having that jar sitting there staring me in the face day in and day out will bring good things to me.
It's sad, though, that I cannot think of one thing to write down that was a good thing that happened to me.

After all the posts your have written, you need to look back at the positive ones. You've won lotteries, your daughter has surprised you....even your husband has given you encouragement. Think of the little things. Some one cleaning the windshield of your car or your sidewalk after it snows. They don't need to do it every time...just once is special.

Happy New Year my friend! I like your idea on putting a gratitude list inside your jar. That is pretty awesome. I just posted my gratitude list for 2016 in my blog. I love it because it makes me happy and positive afterward. Today, I am going to think of my goals for 2017. I was planning to do before 2017 takes over but I got sick. Now, I feel better.

Any special holiday? Any special visit from a loved one? Good health of all your loved ones including yourself? A nice dress or pair of shoes you bought? I´m very happy because my oncologist told me that my lymphoma was on remission.

That is sad indeed. I'm sure you have had a positive impact on the lives of others and that in itself is a good thing.

I heard about the idea of filling a jar with notes about everything positive that happens. It sounds like a great idea and I may try it.
