There's a hole in my heart...

Yesterday around 7:30p.m. or so, my dog died of a sudden heart attack. It was akin to losing a son for me because that's how I raised him, and he reacted accordingly. He was a smart dog but would play dumb because he knew it annoyed me. I fed him, would clean him, and tended to be doting pet owner. I could replace him sure, but not completely.
But because of this, I have hole in my heart. Rest In Peace Little Bit, you'll be sorely missed. ;_;

@ms1864 Yeah, and it came out of no where, because he was fine all day that day. But what my parents don't know is that he inherited the cynicism of me and my siblings. Apparently that's not healthy for a dog to be bitter towards anyone outside of family. Something I should've picked up on because his predecessor wasn't as aggressive because she loved people, and only interacted with oner dogs when in heat. But Little Bit was so easily aggravated if you invaded his space or disrupted his time with my parents. Had I only known, I'd have made a better effort to make sure he was happy.
I can only learn from this, but it'll be a while since this regret is still on my mind.

@Happy2BeMe Yeah, this made 2016 officially one of the worst years of my life. I appreciate the sentiment.

I am so sorry for your loss. My dog is one of my kids and I am going to be lost when it's her time to go. =( I can't imagine.

@LovingMyBabies Yeah it's painful when you raise them as your own only to lose them. Not sure when I'll be able to move but I hope it's soon since I'll be getting a job and my own place soon.

@ricki_911 It sure is, especially when you treat them like people. Like I expressed, I was a doting pet owner, and tended to be overprotective.
Not sure how many more stages of grief I have left to go... I think two or three.

@Kandae11 Yeah, animals tend to have short life spans which I'm okay with. I just he'd have lived a full 15 years. I appreciate your sentiment.

that is so terrible..i know how you feel. I felt the same when i lost my dog.
Hope they are all happy in doggy heaven.
