I went to bed last night and listened to the PBS's Great Performances special "Vienna: The New Years Celebration 2017". Melodies of the Strass Family. Beautiful classical music played by the orchestra conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, from Vienna’s Musikverein. It was all you can possibly imagine and so much more.
Julie Andrews Returns as Host of From Vienna: The New Year’s Celebration 2017, Conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, and On THIRTEEN’s Great Performances Sunday, January 1 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. ET on PBS The Vienna Philharmonic and soloists of the Vienna State Bal

I enjoy a lot of their programs. You could probably go to their site(PBS.org) and get several of the programs. Or watch them anyway.

@celticeagle Exactly. It was so perfectly relaxing and something I really do enjoy. My mother brought to me a huge love of classical music and ballet even travel and that show brought all of that to life for me. I think this will be the year I watch much more PBS.

She is a lovely person. I felt so bad for her when that doctor did what he did to her throat.

Sounds like a better way to bring in the year than the two New Year's Eve shows on TV. The entertainment they had for it was not so much. I don't know any of the groups today.
