First day back with cyber schooling was worse then I expected

Even though I knew I would be tired today I couldn't stop reading "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult. It was a reasonable time that I went to bed though which was 11 pm. I should have just stayed up half the night and read as I laid there most of the night without sleeping anyway. Surprisingly I wasn't as tired during the day as I thought I would and managed to only drink one coffee (My face gets real red with more then one). I knew it would be tough for my kids to go back to school but I really did not expect it to be as hard for my son to go back to doing cyber school today as he made it seem. I would say that he cried the majority of the day from 8 am until we finished at 4 pm. He got at least three breaks between classes and that was the only time he didn't cry. It was an awful day for me. I'm praying that after he sleeps tonight he will be in a better mood tomorrow. On Toluna the points you earn expire after 1 year. In order to get a $10 Toys R Us gift card I need to earn 40,000 points. Right now I am at 17,540 points. On the 28th of this month 6800 of my points expire. I want to reach the $10 payout as I lose points all the time as I am not active enough to ever reach a payout before my points expire. After that I am quitting Toluna. I completed two surveys there and am to tired to do anymore tonight. I am to tired to read even so I am going to go brush my teeth and go to bed earlier tonight. Since I slept so poorly last night I should sleep much better tonight.

That usually works for me to sleep the night after I can't sleep at all. I am sure tomorrow will go better.

@shaggin If you're a milk drinker have you ever tried heating it up a little and drinking it when you can't sleep? I've done it before and it works for me.

@shaggin ugg, I hate sleep problems. I have so many nights I don't sleep. Glad your son is getting back into the routine at least. Take care.

I should just quit now but I have put time into it over the years and just keep losing points so if I be very active hopefully I can cash out once soon and then quit.

@Tina30219 I've already earned enough points for the $10 Toys R Us gift card. Since I have awhile still before those 3600 points expire I am going to keep going and try to get the $15 target gift card. It is a lot faster to earn points then I had expected! Ther are polls as well you get 15 points for each. I've done a lot each day and wracked up hundreds of points.

I am very tired. My kids just went to bed about a half an hour ago. I completed a bunch of surveys on Toluna and am pretty close to having enough points to cash out. I am quitting for the night as I am so tired. I am going to lay down and read and hopefully be in bed by 10pm.

Don't you hate that when you do try to get to bed at a reasonable hour and then have trouble sleeping anyway? Sometimes it's better to get back up and accomplish something and try again. I used to do that, but anymore if I get up for too long my husband can't get his sleep either, so it's best for me to just try to get some rest if nothing else. I've found a few times when I've been awake more than asleep that I, too, was quite surprised to find that I wasn't as tired the next day as expected. I've not heard of cyber school before. I'm guessing that's different than homeschooling? Does it mean they're able to do classwork in real time from the comfort of their home? I've heard of things like that but I don't know whether it's available. As far as what you were reading. I've not read that one, but I have read a few of hers before and they can be hard to put down. I'd have to dump out a bag of books in the closet to find the ones I've read of hers before. I find that if I want to read, I shouldn't have anything else to do for it won't get done. I'm hoping to get some reading done when I have my knee replacement, but I'm also hoping to get some things gone through in the house and thrown away and organized. Plus spend more time here and a photo site I'm on.

@MarshaMusselman I accidentally pushed comment before I finished writing sorry! With Cyber School my son does online classes from 8:15 am to 1:45 pm. He can hear and see the teacher as well as hear the other students. It is pretty neat! He has homework after that which is partly online and partly book work.

@shaggin Do other children in his class attend the same way, or maybe all of them do? When I remember I was going to add more to my response or replies, I'll just edit what I wrote and hope the other person wasn't too quick to see it yet. It looks like you remembered later here though, maybe?

It is going well so far. He had a history assesment and then an hour break between math which he is doing now. I think that nice long break helped a lot! I was able to take a shower ans catch up on Crowdtap, dailybreak, and recyclebank.

I may stick around at Toluna after all and just make sure to cash out before the points expire. I an earning points there so much faster then I expected. Since the first day back to cyber school after vacation my son has done better. He has a very hard time with changes.

@shaggin I'm glad T is earning You points faster than you expected. You certainly don't want to lose any points earned. I'm glad your son is doing better. It's difficult for many kids to settle back into routines after a long holiday break.

I think his crying was due to a change in the routine from the days he had off and then having to go back. He reacts badly to any changes.
