Queen 'nearly shot' by Buckingham Palace guard during late night stroll

i saw this news last night and it said that it happened around 3Am when HRH went for a walk cause she couldn't sleep..
i haven't seen any official statement released from the palace so if this is true.. then i'm sure the guard has been dismissed!

It is one of the perks of being a member of the archaic hereditary UK monarchy that you have armed guards watching over you at all hours. But that apparently almost backfired for the Queen when she decided to take a late-night walk around the palace ground

yes, she had a heavy cold. i think the medication kept her up. considering her age too, it's no longer easy to sleep early or right away..

The article refers to an ex-guardsman talking about something that happened 'late one night' so it was some time - probably years - ago.

That guard was put in a very awkward spot. If an intruder had been on the grounds he would have been vilified for not being alert. I don't think he should be punished.

it's in the news.. but the palaces hasn't released any official statement regarding the incident.
i adore the Queen too! she is very intelligent, elegant, charming and cheeky hehe

no motive. the guard didn't see that it was the Queen..
