You are what you wear.

It is rather encouraging when someone drops by a post and makes a comment that leads to another. This happened to me when celticeagle mentioned that the clothes we wear can affect our mood. It reminded me of a New Year party I went to when a game was played which required role playing in order to solve a murder mystery. I was given the part of a French floozie. The ‘prop’ I was handed was a featherlike stole to wind around my head - when I did this a sudden transformation took place. I found myself producing a French accent quite out of the blue, but more astonishing was that I began to enjoy playing the role! Was there a little bit of floozie in me that had been waiting for a chance to express herself I wondered…. So yes celticeagle clothes can have a profound effect which worries me a little because one of my grandsons has just finished playing the pantomime dame in a theatre this Christmas. I hope when he removed the wig and other regalia that he returned to normal!

Did you ever play the floozie again after this experience to get to know yourself better? :-)

How interesting, this is something I've never given any thought to. I've never done fancy dress, but when I dress up for a smart occasion I do tend to act more dignified than normal, so there must be something to what you say.

There is a saying 'clothes make the man' so they must make the woman too! I mostly dress to be comfortable so as it is cold today I am all bundled up in anything that is old and worn. You're right because I feel quite old and worn today too now I think about it...

Haha. It is amazing as you say. I like to think I'm shy but sometimes if I don some odd clothing I feel my own 'self' is hidden and I can be anyone I like. Glad you enjoyed being a floozie. Have you been tempted to don a feather boa again?

It wouldn't be quite the same unless it was another party surrounded by some fun loving young people.

@41CombedaleRoad That's true but a bit sad. We always groan when we have to go to a fancy dress party but we always support the people and go in fancy dress and it is always great fun. It needn't take a lot of effort.

I am not sure what I choose to wear affects my mood. It sounds like you had a fun wth that.
