Watching reruns: what happened to the old flames? / myLot

I just finished one of the old CSI Miami and I greeted again Horatio Caine. I know everyone of his moods and ways of speaking and acting and I bet many of you have the same relation with him. Yet, googling what happened to David Caruso, the actor who had us glued to the TV for so many years, I can see that he was not given any other good rol and now he is dedicating his time to photography. The same thing happened with Ziva David, played by Coté de Pablo. After she got out of NCIS, we did not see her in any interesting movie either in TV or in a film. And last season, all hope of her coming back to NCIS ended with her death as Ziva. What do you think about that? I, personally, don´t like it. They try nnew faces, many not as good, and leave the good actors to be lost.

In the case of Cote, she left the show she wasn't let go. Many actors leave popular shows so as not to be stereotyped and find that they can't get other good work.

I know that. But in the case of others, they don´t get other characters.

@marguicha So as not to get stereotyped in that Series I mentioned. Pepa Aniorte left the said Series to go to be in another one on Antenna Tres. But I did so miss her as I liked her character very much.

This same kind of thing happened to a Series in Spain called "Aguila Roja" I know its not C.S.I. which I have never really been able to follow and I liked "Law and Order" better. Aguila Roja started out really good and in the end after eight seasons a lof ot the Actors dropped out or they were dropped out of it. This led to all kinds of different storylines to the original Story and I have dound it quite hard to follow. Not because I did not like it because my favourite characters were Marquesa de Santillana and El Comisario and Catalina the long suffering personal Maid of the Marquesa. However they did manage to twist the final episode to something like normal and there it has ended for good. Now its sad because its what you and me would call neither here ot there (ni fu ni fa).

@marguicha Indeed that is happening to a lot of Actors and Actresses. Its not what you know but who you know from what it seems. You can see the Series I mentioned on RTVE1 on their Series page if you want. Marquesa de Santillana and the Comisario they made the Series for me. Not that I did not like Aguila Roja either.
