Well, partial success...

I thought that since I had the opportunity, I would try gluing the jar lid thing together.
I took the pattern that I had tried to do before, re-printed out the instructions, as I'm not sure what happened to the original set, got out Mom's glue gun, and tried again.
The first time I tried it didn't look right, so I managed to rip it apart and try again. This time it wasn't as bad, but still not quite right. A bit of the hot glue seeped out, and I'm not sure that using foam instead of fiberfil--which didn't work the first time--was the right choice--and for whatever reason--be it the foam I used or the previously glued fabric, the fabric wrinkled a bit at the edge. On top of that, I guess the hot glue dried too quickly before I tried to screw the lid back on as per the instructions, as the lid wouldn't screw all the way down.
Well, I'm getting a little closer. This jar I can keep or give as a gift, anyway.
