Pampered not spoilt

Well, I'm sure there is a difference
It is now three weeks since Chicca arrived and it feels like she has always been here - probably to her too, judging from how she seems to be so at home here.
She goes where I go: in a basket beside the computer when I am using it, in a basket in the kitchen when I have lunch or dinner, in a basket in the bedroom when I go to bed and am sleeping (and she is there when I wake up too
) and in the basket in the picture in the lounge when I have friends here.
So she has 4 baskets (and another for her toys
) and free access to the sofa too when no-one else is using it
Surely she would be spoilt if I put her into her basket - but I don't, she goes there herself depending where I am
This leads me to believe that she is not spoilt, just pampered
Everyone who has a pet will understand I'm sure

@mysdianait Maybe it is the first place that she has felt like a part of the family. Just feeding a cat is not enough.

I thought it would have taken much longer for her to settle as she is an older cat (she will be two in March) but I am so pleased that it didn't.

@Asylum So true! I also think she might not have been fed as often as I am feeding her here. She seems to have put on weight and filled out a bit since she arrived.

Aww, I just love your little cat to pieces, and every time I think about how you got her I almost tear up. I'm just so darn happy that she found such a loving forever home, and am equally as happy for you that you lucked out with such a sweet baby girl to keep you company!

Thank you!
We were both lucky I guess. She could have been a miserable cat (considering her previous situation too) with no time for humans but instead she is so fussy. At the same time she knows she has to wait for food or to play if I am doing something else. Perfcet!

@mysdianait Absolutely perfect situation for both of you, and I'm so happy for you both! You are lucky to have gotten a good cat, but she's even luckier to be out of that shelter!

Good thing you have a lot of baskets! Pets are supposed to be spoiled.

I am a hoarder and whenever I have something that I think might come in useful one day I keep it. The blanket I cut up for her was over forty years old and had not been used since my so left home over fifteen years ago. Most of the baskets I had received as Christmas hampers or for birthdays with plants in them over the years.
Yes they are indeed!

@mysdianait I used to hang baskets on the wall in my kitchens over the year...it was easy decorating and not expensive as some I got as gifts. I still have a few on the walls here. I have an Easter Basket (not on the wall) that my grandfather had made for me for my first Easter, that basket is 69 years old.

Absolutely. She is pampered not spoiled. I'm sure she is good company for you. They carve out a place in our hearts so quickly.

Theu do indeed! I am already concerned about her visit to the vet for sterilisation (which because of the Christmas holidays has been delayed until later this month) whereas when she first arrived I was not worried about it at all. At least when she returns here she will recgnise this place as 'home' which might have confused if it had been done as soon as she arrived

@Morleyhunt Oh how sad and distressing too I guess. My last female cat had kittens twice and then she was sterilised and was 18 when she passed

@mysdianait when Fifi went to the vets to be sterilized they didn't do it . She reacted badly to the anaesthetic and needed a month to recover before they could try a second time. That was very upsetting. Now she is 12 years old.

Mine has now decided to occupy the chair that I have always used at the table in the kitchen. It is effectively nearer to the heater and the television is right opposite so at meal times it is (was) the best place. Rather than move her though I changed chairs

It's good to be back!
