Former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Mike McCoy who was terminated as the head coach of the Chargers at the end of the 2016 football season has landed on his feet with the Denver Broncos on Friday. McCoy will replace Rick Dennison as the Broncos offensive coordinator under the leadership of Vance Joseph who is the new coach of the Broncos after Gary Kubiak stepped down at the end of the 2016 football season due to health concerns. McCoy was a head coaching candidate to replace Rex Ryan as the head coach of the Buffalo Bills before former Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott was named the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills recently. McCoy had been the offensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos from 2009-2012 before he was hired to become the head coach of the San Diego Chargers before the start of the 2013 football season. Welcome to the latest coaching musical chairs game in 2017.

It won't be the end of the coaching musical chairs game! I tend to just take a look at all these coaching changes towards the start of the new season so I don't get confused with all these changes.

Thank you for sharing the news to me. Football is a funny game with all of the coaching changes when the regular season ends.

@Deepizzaguy Same thing with the NBA. Coaching musical chairs happen at the tail-end of the season!

I am not at all into sports, but I see that in the United States the changing chairs game is identical as in Europe.

That is true since the owner cannot fire all of the players on the team so the coach takes the fall for the team in all sports.
