Short

I do love the ability for short posts on here, it is better than the not so overwhelming minimum word limit that was on here but then again I also hate short posts. I feel like people abuse it at times to make as many posts as they can and it isn't even a good post. Why make a post about something when you are not even explaining what you are talking about. The posts that go like this. Watching The Avengers. Today I was watching The Avengers on the TV. Okay...annd? Was this your first time watching it? What enticed you to watch it? Did you like it? Tell me!! I want to know what you watched but also why you did and if you enjoyed it! Length your post people! I am not saying make a 5 paragraph essay about your meat and potatoes dinner but don't just have a sentence saying, "Tonight we had meat and potatoes for dinner." Well, what was the meat, how did you prepare the potatoes? Did you have the meal with anyone? DETAILS! Details are important for an interactive post. Yes short posts are easier for people to read. But how hard is it to read 5 sentences? We had to do it before, so...why abuse the short posts? I try very VERY hard to at least have 3-5 sentences in a post if I am just jaunting down something quickly. Maybe that is just the writer in me, or maybe I want to tell more instead of making people ask questions and forcing them to comment on my posts. Yeah you are making money because of interactions. Don't force people to ask questions that are not necessary. You are getting free money for writing little posts...actually work for it!

I hate posts that says good morning and nothing follows. Or I'm happy. Or I had a taco and that's it. I think they have forgotten that myLot is a discussion site I don't have a patience for an extremely long post and a one liner post.

If short posts generate interest of users so let it be. I like short meaningful posts.

@DesirousDreamer Just a sentence certainly is not enough to create a meaningful post. I agree with you on that. Actually such posts are considered violations here.

It is not meaningful when it is just a sentence. I am okay with short posts if it actually has a purpose instead of just saying "I watched tv today" that isn't meaningful. That is just someone wanting money.

I do not interact with those posts. If people ignore those posts, they do not earn. I am not aware of us ever having a minimum here, it was on Bubblews. I used to try to make sure I always wrote four lines at least, but it was not mandatory. If you can give good information in shorter amounts, you are welcome to, but as you say, we need a little more fleshing out of these posts.

I remember the first like month I was on here I remember seeing a limit of "200 characters" because I talked to my ex about it when he showed me the site. I just want people to give me a reason to care about their post. If they want to write about they watched tv today. and nothing else...I don't see the reason to care. Give me another sentence as to what you watched and if you enjoyed it or not. I don't know. It just seems disappointing.

yes, sometimes i wish there was a minimum character or word count. i also think 5 sentences provides enough details. when a post is too short and limited, the responses it receives will also have very little variety. sometimes, when i feel like it, i ask a question back to the poster so they can explain more.

I agree that some posts require more details. I usually pass over posts like that though. Short with some detail is fine. Long with unecessary detail is annoying. It depends on the topic of which needs to be made.

It is just better to give more information instead of people losing interest as to Why do we care that you are talking about a show, or food, or whatever.
