Now This Is An Unusual Fact I Found

I’ve been doing some research on history for each month of the year and came across this information that I had never heard before. I need to look further into this, but here’s what I found. On October 5, 1582, “absolutely nothing happened.” What? You say. According to what I found, there was no such day. Neither was there October 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, or 14 of the year 1582! What in the world? Well, here’s what happened. Somehow the calendar had gotten “askew” by ten days by this solar year, so, Pope Gregory XIII eliminated October 5-14 from the calendar in order to catch up. The Gregorian Calendar is different from the Julian Calendar, so I will have to look further into this “story.” I have heard of adjustments to the calendar before, but not the elimination of ten days. Hmmm. Have you heard of this?

I have lost a few days in my life but I don't think they were very memorable.

I know what you mean. I lost a few days myself, when I was very ill and running a fever.
