Going to Maryland in early February

My sister and brother in law invited my kids and I to their home in Maryland in early February for their sons 10th birthday.
She said they will have a small party at their home and then the father will take the boys bowling after. I will likely have to go along or my son won't go.
It is a 4 or 5 hour drive and the weather is very chilly. I dread that long of a drive. Thankfully it just got inspected so I know its safe. It does need all new tires though and thats going to cost a good chunk of my savings.
I finally finished the book I was reading. Seems based on the last two books I read that my rate is about one book finished every 8 days. I want to speed that up to every 7 days. I chose a much shorter book to read this week to catch up.
As you can see in the photo I took it is called "Sweet Anger" by Sandra Brown.
Today was a good day I got a lot accomplished.

That is nice you get to go to the party I am sure you all will have a nice time while you are there.Glad to hear that you got a lot accomplished today I did a load of laundry and chilled.

I am quite nervous about the drive and how my son will react to being away from home but I am just praying it all goes well and everyone has a nice time.

@shaggin Right kids with issues like his can have issues especially not being in a place he knows. Hopefully it goes well and you all have a good time.

It feels nice when we have accomplished a lot of things in a day. I like being productive and I feel awful and lazy when I haven't done anything productive in a day.

Sounds exciting and an opportunity for your son to hang out with other boys his age / cousins. But I would dread the drive as well.

The closer it gets to the date the more nervous I get. I am so nervous of driving and even leaving my house gives me really bad anxiety the past year. Not knowing how my son will act while we are there is very nerve wracking as well. I am afraid he will just cry the whole time and want to go home.

@infatuatedbby I mentioned it twice but he showed no response. He usually gets anxiety the night before or in the morning before we have to go do things.

I need all new tires put on or I will not be able to go. I had a guy who was going to give me an estimate on how much he would charge but I have not heard back from him yesterday or today :-( I hope he isn't wasting my time.

All that I can think about is the 4-5 hour drive. Sound awful to me too. I really don't know how people do it. You basically sit... and do nothing. Drives me crazy!!

I hate it too. I am driving so I can't shift position much so my rear end gets extremely sore and then I start getting really miserable. It has been quite a few years since I have been there. I like when someone else drives then I can relax and read.

Good luck on your reading goal. If you like mysteries I recommend "The Grownup" by Gillian Flynn - and it's a short story

I know what it's like to dread a long drive...but some things we just gotta do. I like your passion for reading. I was a reader like that, but now I don't have the time. I spend so much time online that it is a little unhealthy. I am still trying to stabilize my accounts and create a routine to follow.

Almost everything I do online earns me a little money so that is how I justify my internet usage. I am hoping we will be able to go to the party in Maryland. The day is approaching quickly.
