What is that in the carton? Do you Remember?

Do you remember lots of things from your lifetime that the kids of today would never be able to figure out what they are? I came across the little light cubes that went on some camera, way back when I was younger. Remember the "Brownie" camera or having to take the film to the store to get them developed? It use to take as long as a week in some stores. A few times I actually got some one else's pictures. What a surprise when I thought I was going to see some neat pictures that I took and couldn't figure out who the people in the pictures were. I also remember the Polaroid cameras. I thought they were great back then.

@jstory07 You are right. At least we can take another shot if it didn't turn out right.

@ramapo17 - it was a brick rectangular looking type of camera that took a 110 film cartridge. I'm sure if you saw one you'd remember it.

Polaroid camera were really great back then, that's why I got myself a fuji instax mini because I love film cameras. When I was 11 years old, my mother bought me an automatic camera (remember there was a manual too before?), and i was so happy with that. She bought me tons of films in 36 shots and I enjoyed using that and had the film developed but some pictures were exposed.

I remember getting someone else's pictures back when I had them developed. Quite shocking when I looked through the pictures and did not know anyone in the pictures.

I bought and sold as vintage polaroid cameras just lately. The problem with Polaroids is you do not have negatives if you want copies of good pictures, no scanners back then Those little lights were called flash cubes that were popular with Kodak instamatic cameras, its like you blow up all 4 sides before you eject and replace lol! Getting other people's pictures is really funny

I still had some photo cubes two years ago when we were packing our old house before moving here. It is true about not having negatives from the polaroid cameras.

@magallon If I want a picture right away I take it with my cell phone and send it to my printer and print it out.

I love waiting to get my pictures developed it was a sense of suspense now all we do is take picture on your phone see it and you can get it printed out on your computer are you can just go to one of those self print out boots it's not as fun as it used to be or do you remember how the pictures would overlap and you would see two pictures on the same paper

I know that feeling. When my husband is in a cleaning mood, he throws things out and I don't realize it for a few months.

My son actually just asked me the other day what happened to our Polaroid camera that we had back when he was small in the early 90s...

Yes they were great but I think the film was expensive at that time.

@ramapo17 I've forgotten now. I just remember the joy of not having to wait for weeks for film to come back from the processor.
