Banks or Mercenaries?

Banks should be institutions created to facilitate the management of our money and not to try to "steal" them even more. I am referring to the abusive (and sometimes excessive) fees that they charge us.
Today I had to go to the bank to withdraw 3 fees that I had not asked for to be added (insurance rates). They told me it was something contratutal, however, this was'nt agreed personally (the famous smaller lines that we never read when we will sign a contract and which they conveniently do not explain to us).
Summarizing the outcome of the story: they withdrew the fees and reimbursed me with corrected amounts.

Yes, there is often fine print somewhere that allows someone to steal from us. Should never happen.

I belong to a credit union. Free checking and savings account, free notary services, free coin counting machine and a whole bunch of other benefits. I've never had a problem with them. You should consider switching to a credit union, they value their members and treat you with the respect you deserve. Their interest rates on loans and credit cards are much lower, too, than banks.

I have never been charged any kind of bank fees. Not all banks are out to get you I guess.

I'm glad that they refunded you. I haven't always been so lucky with banks - stacked overdraft fees and badly timed deposits are my pet peeves. Not sure I'd go so far as to call them paid soldiers, but I would certainly call them robbers.
