A very interesting scene

I watched an interesting scene during my stay at VARANASI . I have been seeing many dead bodies being carried away to the river side regularly either for burying or for keeping them on pyre. Whenever a dead body arrives at the place there will be some sacred chants, which I have been hearing. Yesterday, to my surprise I heard some music which I thought there was some marriage procession or any cultural program. But, I have seen a group of persons dancing to the beat of drums in front of a dead body. After inquiry, I am told that the people will dance like that when the dead body is of a person who completes his 85 years or above. I really wondered to see that. It was a great surprise for me.

Traditions like that are very neat. The material over the body in this photo is stunning.

I haven't heard of that. I guess they are rejoicing that the person reached such a good age.
