My puppy might be epileptic... Poor Alex..

Just this morning, I heard my mom's voice frantic with worry. My puppy Alex was having seizure. I was so scared. This was his second episode. My dad said that my puppy was playing around when suddenly he just dropped and start to have a seizure. Just like when a person was having an epileptic episode, he's mouth was foaming with saliva, his whole body was shaking and stiff. After a few mins he woke up and walk groggily. His orientation was definitely off bumping onto anything. Now, he is sleeping peacefully on the mat under my working table. I still worried. It never crossed my mind until I googled his symptoms. He might have epilepsy. But still I'm not jumping into conclusion. Tomorrow, I plan to visit our local vet and ask what to do. If I have to bring him out there for examination I will. Will get him a few shots too. Alex is two mos old now and he's growing real fast. He's smart and likes to play a lot. I never heard him bark. But today he whimpered in pain. I made an inquiry about the parents of Alex that maybe its genetic. So far, no answer yet.

@diosabella then i think you should bring him to the vet clinic. a dog of mine (Thor) was placed on intravenous fluids when he had bouts of vomiting and loose motions.

I'm not sure. But every episode I always make him drink water with sugar.

@ridingbet I went to a vet clinic this morning. They prescribed few meds. They told me after a few hours the seizure will stop.

Poor little puppy. He is so cute in this picture. My dog Roscoe developed seizures when he turned 7 years old. Phenobarbital helped for a while but then we had to have him euthanized. I sincerely hope that the vet gives you better prognosis and that your adorable puppy recovers.

@diosabella If he or she has a fever, that might have been the cause of his or her seizures. The vet will and should look into that.

OMG! Poor dog... I hope we don't come into that. He's feeling much better. No seizure for the last 2 days. But he still have fever.
