Telemarketing calls: Who can handle them?

January 22, 2017 4:48pm CST
If there is some kind of most irritating phone call in this world, I have to confess that I still don't know (and if it really does exist, I'd rather continue without knowing ). Today I received 3 telemarketing calls (1 from the bank and 2 for cable TV subscriptions). The problem is that they were repeated calls, because I had already said that I didn't want to sign anything, but they insist. When will they come up with an idea more appropriate to gain the attention of customers?

I don't get many these days but fortunately when I do, Imake the most of them. I have two numbers and - one which I use for most things and one is an old number that I rarely use. They have the second number which just happens to have a plan which consists of incoming calls recharging my credit - so I let them talk I use that number when I call my sis ter who lives in US When I have had enough of listening to them I usually tell them that their call is rather pointless as I will be moving abroad shortly (not true of course)

When I go to bed, I have to turn my ringer off as I sometimes get calls at strange hours.

I guess it must be worth their while or they wouldn't continue doing it. It is certainly annoying if they continue after you've indicated you're not interested.

I'm a fan of telling them that I'm on the Do Not Call registry, personally. They hang up damn quick after being told that and don't bother calling back.

The names just go back on the list! The calls to you will be made again by someone on another shift next week.

I am not getting as many as I used to get, I just ignore most, the automated ones are the worst

They can get annoying. I just say not interested and hang up. But the interruption is annoying. The scam ones, I string along and finally tell them I don't have a computer.

I just don't answer my phone if I don't know the number haha if it is important they will leave a message. I mean, I cannot get mad at these people because it is a job, sometimes it is only job that works for them.
