It's Pouring Down The Rain Today

I will NOT be going out in the rain today. It’s not storming, but the rain is coming down heavy. The forecasters were right.
My daughter is supposed to come over today but may change her mind if the rain doesn’t slack off. It is really pouring right now.
I’m just glad the temperature is warm enough that this precipitation isn’t SNOW. It would be five feet deep by now. It’s been raining most of the night too.
I haven’t looked at the weather today yet. I’m thinking that in the North, they might be getting snow instead of rain.
I used to live in Maine and the winters were really bad. I vowed to never live in the north again. My twins were born in Maine in the month of July when it was warm. But, the following winter, I didn’t leave the house for weeks. My husband had to go to the military base every day and he had to get the groceries and anything else that we needed. I couldn’t leave the house and it was very boring to say the least.
I did have a neighbor close by and she and I spent a lot of time together. She would come to my house, because I was not able to take the babies out in the cold weather. I had two other small children too.
So, it was easier for her to come to my house. She had one son but he was a teenager. She and I became close friends and I was able to keep my sanity.
I was so happy when we left Maine and I never want to return.

We have much the same weather here as they have in Maine since you are not that there. This winter we've had very little snow. It was the same as last year too. We are suppose to get the heavy rain here tomorrow.

Winter has just started but I hope that we don't get a lot of snow. It's not something I care for anymore. It seems like it's going to be a rainy season and that's OK with me. I prefer rain to snow.

@Happy2BeMe Rain is causing a lot of damage in some areas however. There is not much threat here where I live except near the river. The James River runs through Richmond, VA but I don't live that close to the river.

That's unusual for LA. But, you've been needing some rain for a long time. I was disturbed to hear that the aquifers were being depleted.

@JudyEv Yes, I really liked her. She was a very kind person and loved my babies. We talked about so many different things. I really missed her when they moved away and then of course, we moved away also.

@IreneVincent That's sad that your friend passed away. You would have been good company for each other at the time.

We had a share of that kind of weather last week. In fact it caused flooding in many parts of the city. A city in the southern part of the country suffered worse as many cars were flooding in flood waters as high as 3 meters.

We've had a lot of flooding too. Not right where I live but in several different places in the USA. I hope you are safe.

@sunrisefan Yes, the weather everywhere, it seems, is very strange. I believe that the jet stream has been altered by pollution in the air and is causing all sorts of bad weather situations. Just my humble opinion.

@IreneVincent Yes, we are, Ms. Alice. Thanks. Weather is really very unpredictable these days. About 30 minutes ago, it suddenly rained hard and probably caused the brown-out. Now power is back and it's a bit bright again

I like rainy days if I don't have to go out in it and if it's not storming.
