Light timers - not just for vacations or Christmas

Life hack - timers.  I love using timers for my holiday lights and decorations.  I am lazy and running around, bending and ducking to turn off or on decorations is something I usually forget.  Enter the ever faithful timer.  I like timers so much that I have continued to use them even after the holiday season.  Right now I have lights on an artificial indoor tree, a fountain on a bookshelf and a vase full of white lights, and all of them run off timers.  What extra invention has made your life easier? How they work:

hopefully you will not need a timer to set the timer

I have a timer on my sun room in the back of the house.(its all glass) I have white lights around the whole room and it goes on a 5:30 in the morning so when I wake up there is light in that part of the house, and it goes off around 7:30-8 in the morning when it gets light outside. Then late in the afternoon it goes on when it starts to get dark around 4 or 5 and it goes off around 11:30, after I go to bed. I love the extra light and the timer!!

Oh that sun room sounds lovely. As do your lights. I do like a nice soft glow of lights :-)

My father uses timers for various things but to me they seem confusing. I might set a timer for an air conditioner in the summer for when my kids and I are out all day. That way it won't be to hot to sleep in our rooms when we get home late. It takes a long time to cool my room down.

They are confusing to use, but once you get them figured out not so bad... using one for the AC is a great idea too

I love having my lights on a timer! They come on whether I'm home or not, and it's so nice to wake up from the afternoon nap (I'm over 50, I'm allowed ) with the lights on.

This is a very good idea. I'm not sure what small inventions have made my life easier but I am sure there are lots of them.

Would you believe I've never used a light timer?
