Dinner plans have changed

It's very late but there is no other choice. I was planning to prepare spaghetti bolognese for tonight and I just realized that I don't have all the ingredients. My parents were visiting this weekend and they probably used the tomato sauce. Now I have to change my dinner plans and prepare something quick and easy. Omelette seems like a good idea, I don't know what else I could prepare without proper planning. Any other suggestions for a last minute recipe?

An omelet sounds really good. What will you serve with? Bread, rice?

Usually bread and I like eating cheese on the side as well. I have never tried it with rice though! Is it a good combination?

@besweet I am not a fan of rice too much, but with eggs / omelettes I do like the combination. Cheese + bread is delicious too! Cheese is my favorite, do you have a particular cheese you like with you omelettes?

@infatuatedbby Hmm I like feta cheese, it goes with everything and can be combined with a cabbage and carrot salad easily. From yellow cheese I prefer the harder ones, there is a nice Danish cheese that I buy sometimes but I can't remember the brand!

Omelette seems a good idea or pancakes (crepes) with a savoury filling?

I am taking notes of all the suggestions for quick meals! Thank you! The omelette was salty, I don't know what happened. Maybe I was furstrated and added salt twice! Crepes is a nice idea!

Omelette is the best simple dinner recipe I've ever tried. You can maybe make one with onion, cheese and red/green pepper filling.

I like that recipe too! I prepared one with meat slices (the ones that we use in sandwitches) and onion. It was nice but salty, my mind wasn't focused last night. I think I might added salt twice!

@cahaya1983 I add a small amount of oil in the heated pan, just a few drops. Butter might give more taste to the omelette.

@besweet Sometimes when I use butter instead of oil I don't even add salt.

I love omelettes for dinner. You can put a variety of goodies into it, too.

Yes and every time they come out different! I need to be careful for cholesterol levels so I can't have them very often. It was a nice quick meal though!

Lol Sorry It's a quick choice that I like to eat some days when there is not enough time to cook a proper meal.

We usually have frozen chili or soups from a previous adventure to use when plans change.

My mom is always telling me to keep some frozen portions of food. I always forget, it's a good idea for a quick meal.
