In this time of uncertainty in the US today we need to be watchful and pay attention to what is going on. One way to be a good citizen is to write your congressman and make them aware of your feelings about certain situations. I see in the news that a lot people are physically going to the senator's offices and speaking out about how they feel and what they want. If we don't communicate and vote effectively then we have no reason to whine or be upset if things get tough in the private sector.
Care 2.com is a site where people can go and write petitions or sign ones that are something we are concerned about in our nation. You can also get points for signing petitions and these points go toward planting trees or helping people in third world countries be able to cook with clean water. I have been a member here for many years. Are you?

I wonder how legit these petitions are but if you have belonged to this organization I'll take a look at the site.

It's been around since 1998 and has about 35 million followers. It's a place where you can set up petitions too. I go over there occasionally and see there is anything I want to sign. Animals and such. I'm not able to got out and march or visit my senator's offices so I am trying to find ways I can do something.

@AbbyGreenhill ......I have signed several about the wolf population here in Idaho and a few other states nearby. I am very apposed to the treatment they are getting. Maybe you just need to be passionate about something and you might want to put your name on a petition. I never had until I heard about the wolves.

@celticeagle I have never signed a petition in my life. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing!

@celticeagle I write regularly to voice my concerns; unfortunately too many don't. I have very easy access to local politicians and also to those at national level. I also love writing to foreing heads of state to let off steam and the lady in our post office looks at the addresses to decide how much it will cost to send them and gives a derisory snort as if to say 'Who do you think you are writing to him?'

I like the idea of petitions where something is actually accomplished... even if it doesn't get you what you want... it helps in a different way!!

And we need to be aware of what is going on and develop a voice incase we need to stand up for something at some point.
