Have you ever done any volunteer work?

I already had the opportunity to work in a nursing home, and I can say for sure: It was one of the most enriching experiences of my life so far. I have learned lessons that I'll carry for my whole life. Not to mention all the love, affection and respect I received from them (and that I also gave them).
It was an unforgettable experience! If one day you have that opportunity, grab it. I can guarantee that tou will not regret it.

I have been trying to get people to go volunteer their time at nursing homes for a while now. My mom is in a nursing home and you see how thirsty some of the residents are for company. It makes me sad. I go to visit my mom and will say hello to others in passing or stop to say a few words to them. You can see they want and need so much more.
Kudos to you for volunteering.

@Linda1234 reading to them, or sharing a meal or snack can make their day.

Almost any volunteer work ends up enriching the volunteer equally as much as those he is helping. I helped out in a Red Cross thrift shop for several years and enjoyed it.

I have done internships in NGO and it was great. I loved working with the kids.
