One of John Lennon’s most memorable songs was “Instant Karma” It was written during the period when The Beatles had not announced an official breakup yet. This was already his third single and was released thirteen days after it was written and recorded on January 27, 1970. The story behind how the song came about is interesting. Lennon said he wrote the song in the morning and already knew that it was going to be a hit. So the song was written and recorded the very same day. Lennon was very pleased with the results and the song did become a great hit.
