Humbled by an American History Quiz in One of the Ads Here

I clicked on an ad for taking a quiz on American History I saw at the bottom of a discussion here. Unlike those silly simple quizzes on Facebook, most of which start something like "Only Catholics Can Pass This Quiz," this quiz has 78 questions and you may have to search your memory.
Anyone who paid attention in an American History class and kept up with the state of the country since then should be able to get a decent score. I missed one question I knew but did not go with my gut feeling and picked a different answer. I missed another I knew because I did not pay proper attention to the question and confused two people with the same last name. I got 72 of 78 correct. That's 92%.
I challenge my American friends to take the quiz if you see it advertised here, or find it on my Facebook Timeline under my real name.
Have you taken any of the simple quizzes on Facebook that almost anyone can pass? Practically anyone who's been in a church -- any church -- for a period in their life can probably pass a quiz that pronounces him a good Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, you name it. I turned out to be all of those according to the quizzes.
On the other hand, the American history quiz I found here was not like those at all. You really will have to think about some of the answers. It helps to have lived long enough to watch some of the history as it unfolded.
If you've taken any of these quizzes, I'd love to hear your opinion of them and how you did on the history quiz. Do you ever take online quizzes? If so, what do you think of them? If not, why don't you like to take them? What sort of things trip you up when you take such quizzes?

I haven't seen any quizzes here, or maybe I haven't been paying attention to them. I have taken them on Facebook. They keep your mind sharp. Thinking is good for the brain.

I agree it's good to use one's brain. you need to use it or lose it. I didn't find the Facebook quizzes needed much thinking. I was disappointed when I linked to the quiz on Facebook and one of my smartest friends from high school I was really hoping to compare scores with said 78 questions is too long. He was a real brain in high school and was picked to attend Annapolis Navy Academy. Interestingly enough, he's now an expat in Serbia after marrying a Serbian girl. I find it funny and ironic that my husband escaped from Serbia in 1949 with his family as a political refugee after being in prison and almost executed for not being Communist, but my high school friend has now chosen to live there after the political situation mellowed out a bit.

I liked this quiz because it did make me think. The questions were easy enough so that someone who cares about history and keeps up with current events should do fairly well, but sometimes you have to analyze to figure out the right answer. If I wasn't sure, I tried to use information about general time periods to eliminate certain dates for certain events. Sometimes the photos gave you hints if you recognized the people in them.
