Is eating tube light and glasses easy?

I've heard and watched many TV episodes where they show people eating glasses and tube lights as part of stunts.. is that all true? How come they are able to digest these .. won't they tear your tongue and tissues?
I would like to know if it's really possible in this world to do such things.. unable to digest this ..
What's your say on this ??
