There are those of you who enjoy listening to oldies will remember the song “Good Vibrations” by The Beach Boys. It’s the kind of song that makes you really feel good. The Beach Boys were a band that had a special sound that was all their own. As soon as you heard one of their songs you already knew who had recorded it. Band member Brian Wilson was a great talent and did the songwriting. He scored hits with such songs as “Surfin’ Safari” and “Surfin’ U.S.A.”.
While at the peak of their popularity in the mid-1960s other band members went on a tour while Wilson stayed behind in the recording studio creating music for one of their albums titled Pet Sounds. This album became one of their all-time best albums. It included the hit single “Good Vibrations”. Wilson was so talented that he put together this 3 minute and 39 second song by piecing together over 90 hours of recorded tape from hundreds of different sessions. The song became their third number one hit single. Unfortunately for Wilson his career was put on hold in the late 1960s as his life was overtaken by drugs, depression and mental illness.
How many of you like The Beach Boys?
