My mother and my girlfriend love to watch them (if it were possible, they would spend hours and hours watching them
).
Until a few years ago, my father and I suffered with this because we only had one television, but after we bought another TV, everything changed for the better.

Soap Operas were huge for stay at home moms and housewives years ago. They are less popular now. When I was young I watched General Hospital and All My Children with my mother. Around 2003 I started watching Passions. It was so wacky I loved it. I haven't had cable in years to watch anything.

@sugartoes I've never heard of Ryan's Hope. Television is very distracting I never got anything done when it was on. It doesn't even matter what it is if the television is on I can't peel my eyes away from it.

@coffeebreakwhatever I remember her character was very much hated lol so that was kind of crazy her mother named her after that character.

Some people are really addicted to the soap operas aren't they?

@coffeebreakwhatever My Mum had regular serials on radio that she used to listen to each day while doing the housework. They were much the same. Some would become so compelling she'd try really hard to be around every day at 10am or whatever.

@coffeebreakwhatever What a shame your Mum wouldn't let you iron! We had irons you heated on top of the wood stove. They were very heavy so I never did much ironing as a kid either.

I do watch them but as they get extended I kind of lose interest.

Most ladies are addicted to soap opera. I don't like to waste time with soap opera.

There are only a few daytime soaps left as opposed to many years ago so there are not hours and hours daily.
