"Uh, No grandma .. that's all olden days. We've so many beauty products now which gives immediate results and you're asking me to use old things which I'm not even sure how to spell it." I hope many of us would have fought with our grand mom. What they give is really useful tips but no wonder we wait for them to complete the sentence too. I'm staying in my grandma place for a while and it's been almost 3 weeks here. Every time I have a head bath, she used to ask me to use Sheekai(scrub or paste to wash hair) for rinsing the hair. Along with that she asks me to use turmeric powder for body which is actually a antibiotic and kills germs. As usual I will nod my head but will leave her tips in bathing room itself. But trust me I tried those yesterday and something strikes me that I've to keep doing this. It was quite refreshing to use those things for bath works. I felt I had some extra shine for my hair and glow on my skin. How many of you have used ancient methods for keeping up your beauty and what are they ?!

It's always a good idea to listen to your grandmother. She always knows what she's talking about. I never argued with my grandmother. That wouldn't have gone over very well. I don't have any beauty tips.

That's very true.. they know everything better for they've gone through so many generations. 1 best example for my lifetime would be - one day, I refilled the sugar container till it's neck. I was then struggling to insert the spoon inside the container. She just came and said - put the spoon upside down(the stick portion inside and curve portion facing the top). To my surprise, it went inside the container without any hassle. She would suggest so many tips like this.

Not all, but some of the ancient tips and home made products are still worth trying.

I believe that every tip will work but the thing is we won't know how to properly use them.

@smileyhema I LOVE reading and learning old or new natural remedies to do things. I can't think of anything right now but I do love learning them as it's so interesting and so much cheaper and harmless than things from the store.

I agree those tips are worth trying. But just not as quick and convenient as packaged cosmetics.

Yes not everything comes quick and easy. Few solutions are worth waiting. What say?

I thought of using turmeric powder for my face but I used to forget it often. But I think I have to make it a practice hereafter. Weekdays it's not possible but weekend I can try . For hair, now I use shampoos only. When my mom used to take care of me( when I was young) she will be using shikakai paste on my hair. But once I started doing things for myself, I only use shampoo.

Hmm I get your point. That's good, try using them on weekends at least. Shampoos are okay if they are applied very mildly. I still think back on how my hair used to be when o was applying those paste. Miss those days, Man!!
