Today was my 2nd attempt at hosting a blind book exchange. At first, I thought I was going to have to go home because no one was showing up. So, I sent a message to the group, and two people, whom I do not know, responded and said they were running late, but would be there. One brought her sister, so there were 4 of us. Not too bad! Had many cancellations, but I'm glad there were still a few people there. They said they wanted to come next month, so I have already set up the next exchange for March 4th. I hope more people come to this one. I think it will eventually turn out to be a really fun way to get to know local people and get some cool books.

It's a great idea and would take time to grow. Personally, I have had friends say they would come to some party or another and insisted I have the party and THOSE are the people who didn't show up. I don't have a whole lot of friends, though it might be a good idea to put invitations in neighbours' mail boxes and see who shows up. But my house is a freakin' mess! LOL!
Hope the group grows for you.

@cpefley I actually brought this story up to a couple of the members of my writing group as we met for tea after our meeting yesterday. They thought it was a great idea and I may, or the group may, run with this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
