Spring time comes and I Want to go moan!

(sung to "Daylight comes and I want to go home") There have been several rants on here in the past few hours of neighbors. I thought I would put my own two cents worth in to the growing discussions. The neighbors to my right (left if you are facing the house) have been there for many many years. Our families had, at one time, a very neighborly relationship. My mom used to go sit and talk with the matriarch of that family for hours on end. Even when I was a child, I'd play with the grandchildren of said matriarch. The grandchildren were atleast ten years younger, if not more, but I digress. I moved away, and when I did move back in, things had severely changed. The patriarch had passed some years prior, and the noise level and utter disrespect had grown insurmountable. In the spring, though it's gotten better over the years, I can be sure that I'll awaken to radios blasting while they work on their cars. Their property is in somewhat of a "dip" compared to ours, and so sound echoes. I work third shift, so sleep during the day. My bedroom is directly beside where they work on their cars. I've had to rouse myself from the bed, go find their house number and call to complain about the noise more than once. Like I said, over the years it's gotten better but I can still be sure that when spring comes some level of annoyance will emit itself from their property. Springtime comes and I'm off to go moan!

Neighbors seem to be either really nice or really bad. There doesn't seem to be any in between. Not in my experience anyway. We have been here for nearly twenty years and the neighbors on either side have been nice and horrid. Now they are both nice. Thank goodness.

Nice neighbors are always great. Hey, even neighbors that don't say one word to you are great. I'm hoping this year I"ll be wrong and their won't be any noise, but we shall see.

@celticeagle Our are separate homes, in a cul de sac. We are in the very middle, one on either side of us.

There is one neighbour who is a nuisance. Their coconuts fall in our compound and destroy our fence which has a top layer of barbed wire.

@ScribbledAdNauseum There are methods and we had suggested to them. But they have not bothered.

I can understand them not wanting to lose the tree, but they could devise something to catch the coconuts surely?

Wear eag plug if you can that helps get rid of some of the noise.

This noise comes through with two fans blaring in my room. I don't know that much else could be done. I can't wear ear plugs unfortunately.

Can you relocate your sleeping area? Sometimes it is just easier than dealing with people who will not change.

Every bedroom that I could relocate to is on the same wall as the neighbor's.

@PatZAnthony That wouldn't be possible either. The only thing I can do is hope they won't be so loud. It's not even the noise of them working on their cars that's the problem. It's the music that they use.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Sleep in the living room? It seems an impossible situation, especially b/c you sleep during the day.

I am fortunate in that all of my neighbours are okay. This is good because I hate confrontation.

Neighbours can be pretty annoying. I have had my share. Our previous neighbours were a big part of us moving.

People just aren't as considerate as they once were. I know that's not the case for everyone, but I've read a fair amount of neighbor complaints on here to think a lot of people just aren't very neighborly anymore.
