Pay attention to old people

Do you pay much attention to old people? They have lived their most of the life and have received wisdom as a reward but at the same time they are weak and in many cases ALONE. I love talking to them, greeting them which brings a smile on their faces which is the best blessings I can receive. Most of them are well respected and cared in their families but I know that somewhere they feel alone. They deserve our attention. What do you think?

Really, if we do so they feel connected. It makes them happy. I often seek their advice which they provide happily.

I make it a point to spend my time with people who are old. I love to listen to their life experiences. Old people need more attention. Unfortunately, now a days people have little time to sit with them because of rat race.

@Bodyandbrain For example if I go to my in-laws's house. I make it a point to sit with my Mother in Law and talk to her.

It's good that you make an effort to that. I appreciate. You are right that people are too busy to do it.

@Bodyandbrain It's time oldies stopped making a martyr of themselves and be a nuisance to others. There are many who pretend to be helpless and expect to be pampered. Today's youngsters are loadoed with tasks what with no domestic help and such issues.

@allknowing yes, you are right. My parents and father in law prefer to live at their own, in their own houses and don't want to depend on any one although we want them to be with us. May be their are many who pretend to be helpless, but the old people I find around me are strong, don't demand attention or sympathy.

@tzwrites so it's okay to be foolish, childish or whatever you feel like being because every experience matters in life.

You are right, wisdom is earned by being foolish for years. Every mistake and life experiences help us to grow wiser.

@spaceseed I know, elders love to live at their place, they have strong attachment with their place. We do the same, like visiting them many times a year and they come to meet us too.
