The Fence Between ...

Today I had the grand idea of how to get Duke ... Kissy and Camie in the same area close to each other. I had to do it in such a way they couldn't get into a fight. I took my portable fencing ... connected it to Duke's kennel and across the front where the dogs would meet. This was to protect their mouths if they tried to make contact. First I took Kissy our Rottie into the portable fence. He and Duke began barking for I know ... 30 minutes. I had hoped they would become tired of barking ... lay down, relax. No such thing. I took Kissy back to the fenced-in yard ... led Camie who is our Australian Blue Heeler-mixed ... to the portable fence. She and Duke barked just a couple of minutes ... growled a tiny bit ... that was it. I think they became bored with each other. Duke began eating his dry food. Camie stood waiting for me to take her back to her fenced-in yard. Thankfully I had the fence between them. I don't think I'll ever let them get together unless there is always a fence between them. They might never get closer than they were today, but this might be enough. You are keeping them safe without have them isolated.

@GrannyGee We have had some bad results when we thought all would go well. Some dogs, just like some people, can't be together.

@PatZAnthony Skip and I were just sitting here talking about it. Our goal is to get another kennel ... and adjoin it to the kennel Duke is in. The middle chain-link fence will have a door we will lock ... that will be the middle fence to keep between all the Pups. We can let them visit often ... with that middle fence in between them at all times. Kissy and Camie can visit for several hours a day ... and when they are safely back in their yard ... I can open the middle door and Duke can have all that extra room to move around in.

Yes, I have a feeling you are right. Something tells me not to push it ... to always keep a fence between them. I will listen to that feeling because when I don't something bad will happen.

Lets see, 3 strong willed breeds that have been proved to possess strong attitudes .... yeah, nope, I don't think so, especially not the 2 males.

That's the feeling I had. I won't ever chance it ... there'll always be a fence between them. I love all three babies ... I can't allow not one to get hurt or worse. Thank you

That's why I don't have another dog @GrannyGee Ally was raised by a Bull Terrier mix who was very dominate and even though he's gone now I'm not sure if she would want another dog in the house .... funny that she likes cats though.
