"Fifty Shades Darker" (2017): Movie Review (Grade: D)

Artificial, boring and purposeless (and I'm being polite)... These three adjectives define very well what this movie is about.
The script (by Niall Leonard) is forced to the extreme, creating situations so improbable that everything is just one step away from ridicule. The drama is all fake and the supposed hot/sexy scenes aren't what the advertisement sells (And the misunderstanding of the duo of protagonist is the main cause of this).
Talking about cast... My God! How terrible they are! Dakota Johnson is so cold as an ice stone (and this is a shame because she is kinda beautiful), Jamie Dornan is so caricature and builds such a ridiculous character that it's impossible not to feel sorry for such a bad performance. The duo doesn't work on anything, nor on the supposed hottest scenes in the movie (which should be the highlight of the movie). Kim Basinger is a good actress, but here, she is totally lost and the rest of the cast is all dispensable.
The direction of James Foley ("Perfect Stranger") is totally uncompromised with any acceptable level of quality (no effort is made to present at least a decent result). Everything is so sloppy that I wonder if he even stepped on the set for at least one day.
The editing is very poorly done (there are totally disconnected scenes... something that for those who like cinema, bordering on amateurism) and the soundtrack is the cherry on the top of a very bitter cake. Nothing in this movie works (except for some beautiful landscapes that appear... By the way, that was the reason I gave the movie a "D", otherwise it would be a beautiful "F")!
Conclusion: Don't waste your money going to the movies watching this movie. You must be asking yourself: "So, why did you go to the movies to watch it?", and I answer you: "What don't we do for people we like, right?" (in this case, my girlfriend).

I watched Fifty Shades of Grey but I haven't watched Fifty Shades Darker. I don't like the movie Fifty Shades of Grey and therefore I don't have a high expectation to Fifty Shades Darker. This story is just so fake to me. I don't like the actress very much because she is not pretty in my opinion.

I read all the books and they were great.. I didn't want to see the movie tho cuz there was no way they could of done what the book did without it being x rated.. but my friend got me to watch it and it was not all that bad. So I will be watching the new one also.

Thank you!!!!!!! The books suck, the movies suck worse. Believe me, when it comes to crap like fifty shades, there is way hotter material out there. I like the many spoofs of this on youtube, lol. I'm just gonna go geek out and see Lego Batman on v day
