Dear Friends,
I am writing a book. The working title is 'The Revered, The Reviled, and The Reveller'. The intention is to write about how Paganism, etc. has been viewed throughout society over time. My book is very Anglocentric but I'll be including bits, if I have enough information, about other places.
I am including some Church and Parliament legislation. Did you know that the latest piece of legislation related to 'Witchcraft' in England wasn't repealed until 2008?
Anyway, I would like to include some personal experiences or opinions if I can. Have you had a positive experience, a negative one? Have you grown up with your beliefs or did you 'come out' as a Witch? What is it that you believe and practice? What is your own opinion of Paganism, Witchcraft, etc. and what other opinions have you come across? Have you had to hide your faith?
Opinions of people who are not practicing these beliefs would also be appreciated so that I can gauge a few thoughts about how they are viewed by wider society.
Thanks peeps.
Please be respectful. If you are not of these faiths, consider how you would feel if someone were to be disrespectful to your own beliefs. Do unto others, harm none, and all that.

Thank you. I've always found such things interesting. While I don't have a particular faith, I do consider myself more Pagan than anything else. I'm interested in all kinds of theology and its history. My difficulty with my book, so far, is that I keep getting distracted. Trying to work out what to put in and then finding something completely different which I'd like to find out more!

@rusty2rusty Me too. I mean, raised in a certain religion (which I don't think I ever truly believed) but always been interested in others. My youngest son, who is 11, once said he was a Christian, then an Atheist, but his favourite school subject is religious studies.

Thank you. I am saddened, but not surprised, not only that I've found so few people to offer their views and experience but that those which have been shared have shown that this is something still looked on negatively.

That is perfectly reasonable. A fair and honest answer :)
