The Reality of Cloning !!!!

et me clarify the initial misunderstanding of cloning. First it is quite different from artificial insemination in that there is no sperm. In cloning as it is practiced today a normal body cell (a somatic cell) not a sperm or ovum (egg) is taken and it nucleus is removed. The nucleus is then inserted into an ovum from which the nucleus has just been removed. This ovum is then stimulated to divide and form an embryo which is implanted into a normal uterus of the appropriate species and allowed to follow a normal pregnancy as is done in in-vitro fertilization. What results is an individual that is genetically identical to the donor of the nucleus as far as nuclear DNA is concerned. This new individual is not identical to the donor in all ways however. First the new individual will have different mitochondrial DNA as these structures are in the cytoplasm of the ovum not in the nucleus. Additionally as in identical twins the fingerprints and retinal and iris patterns will be similar but distinct. They may not even look that much alike when grown because much of stature and body habitus are strongly influenced by environment. Indeed even “identical” twins from the same uterus may look different because of different factors within the womb. As far as personality just as identical twins can have quite different personalities and do not have common thoughts or memories so it will be with a clone. The same reasoning goes for a soul if one even exists. The biggest advantage clones have is that like identical twins they can donate organs without fear of rejection. well, i favour human cloning, what do u people say...???
